Good morning!
Risk assets continue to surge, with cryptocurrencies, particularly altcoins, taking center stage. The main event ahead is the Trump/Putin meeting in Alaska this Friday, which has amplified speculation that a deal is about to be announced. Additionally, the US-China trade deal has been extended, indicating the prevailing differences that have not yet been resolved. The next most important event would be the FOMC minutes, scheduled for next Wednesday.
Data-wise, GDP growth in the UK, retail sales in the US, and Industrial Production in China are anticipated to come out softer than their last print, while inflation in both the UK and the US is expected to tick higher. The only anticipated positive would be a further improvement in China’s retail sales.
