Good morning!
The main news of last week was the Supreme Court ruling against Trump’s tariffs and the US president's imposition of a replacement global 10% tariff. Iran remains in the centre of attention amid the US military presence building in the Middle East and geopolitical premium creeping into energy prices.
Data-wise, US GDP growth disappointed while Core PCE came higher than expected - a bad combination of slower growth and sticky inflation - while personal spending and income grew stronger despite flat growth forecasts. The calendar is looking very thin this week, with US PPI expected to decelerate and India’s GDP forecasted to soften to 7.8% annual growth, while next week, Chinese Manufacturing is expected to grow slightly and European inflation to stay stable.
