Good morning!

As the war in the Middle East continues, risk assets have begun to price in a prolonged period of higher energy costs and a greater likelihood of interest rate hikes. Bonds and stocks have both sold off, with UK yields hitting their highest level since 2008 and stocks erasing most of their gains for the year. Oil and Gas remain volatile, juggling between US talk on a deal vs. attacks on energy infrastructure and the ongoing blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. Gold and silver lose their safe-haven status and sell off as many governments have to extend their fiscal deficits to subsidize higher energy costs for the public. The USD and the Swiss franc remain among the few assets that continue to rally.

Data-wise, we have a very quiet week with UK retail sales expected to decline while European inflation is expected to tick up slightly above the 2% target rate.

Plan it. Alert it. Slam it.
