Touch Gold

Issue #144

Good morning!

Risk assets have been struggling since the pullback following the Jackson Hole. There are no major geopolitical-related meetings, besides Putin’s attendance at China’s military parade today. Looking ahead, data-wise, we have US labour stats on Friday, with unemployment expected to remain once again constant and non-farm payrolls expected to remain weak. Next week, we expect to see softer exports and inflation from China, while PPI in the US is expected to reverse some of the steep increase we saw last week. Overall, the market anticipates that labour will slightly deteriorate and inflation will slightly improve, which would give the FED the green light to proceed with cuts. As always, though, surprises are on the table.
